Almost every morning I make myself a parfait with fresh fruit, coconut yogurt, granola, and a drizzle of honey. It’s one of my favorite quick meals, and Bailey always wants a bite! She loves fresh fruit, especially blueberries and bananas. It made me wonder – why not give her similar, dog-friendly treats that she can enjoy while I’m having breakfast?
That’s why I decided to make these healthy fruit and yogurt frozen dog treats! Not only are these sure to be a favorite, they’re also super healthy for your pup. The fruit provides fiber and antioxidants, and the yogurt provides probiotics – perfect for keeping your dog’s tummy in tip-top shape!
- 1/4 cup fruit, fresh or frozen
- 1/2 cup plain, unsweetened yogurt
- Mold or ice cube tray for freezing the treats
For this recipe, I used strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. I also opted for plain, coconut-based yogurt.
All you have to do is chop up fruit, put it in your mold of choice, fill the rest of the mold with yogurt, and freeze! It’s really that simple.
Tip: Even if your dog is small, I definitely recommend using molds that are large enough to at least comfortably fit a blueberry or two (or chop them up beforehand)! The mold I used is super cute, but I realized too late that it was way too small to put a variety of fruit in. It was also really difficult to get enough yogurt in the mold. When in doubt, use a bigger mold and cut the treats up smaller later if needed!
I love making dog treats for my dogs because I know everything that is going into the treat. I can use healthy, organic ingredients that I know my dogs will love. If you’re looking for recipes to make more healthy dog treats, check out our Turmeric Latte Pupsicle Recipe!
