The Ultimate Guide to Adaptogenic Mushrooms

The Ultimate Guide to Adaptogenic Mushrooms

Real talk – I used to hate mushrooms. I thought they were so gross and never would have imagined loving them. Also, just in case you weren’t sure, I’m talking about the non-hallucinogenic kind of mushrooms!

While the mushrooms found in soups and salads are great, there’s a whole other world of healing mushrooms to discover. I’ve loved learning about benefits of incorporating mushrooms into my life, as silly as that sounds.

Adding mushrooms to my lattes and diet have given me another way to care for myself and I would love to share just how awesome they are with you!

You can find these friendly little fungi online or at your local health food store in powdered or pill forms.

Let’s meet the mushrooms!

Reishi

Also known as “Lingzhi” in Chinese, Reishi mushrooms are perfect for when you want to relax or fall asleep.

There are many different Reishi species, ranging from the orange to brown disks that grow on trees to a variety that looks like antlers!

Reishi has been used for thousands of years in Asian cultures and has recently made its way over to the US. Reishi is said to help reduce stress and anxiety, and make it easier to sleep.

I love drinking Four Sigmatic’s Reishi Hot Chocolate before bed or whenever I’m feeling frazzled.

Lion’s Mane

Lion’s Mane is a mushroom that got its name from its fluffy appearance.

Perfect for study or work sessions, this adaptogenic mushroom will help you focus and get anything done.

I personally love Four Sigmatic’s Lion’s Mane Mushroom Elixir which also has rose hips and peppermint added.

Chaga

Chaga is a slow-growing mushroom that grows on birch trees – it even kind of looks like bark!

This super ‘shroom boosts immunity and reduces inflammation.

Four Sigmatic’s Chaga Mocha is delicious, but another great option is to buy whole Chaga so you can brew your own Chaga tea.
